Local resident bequests $1 million to Alzheimer’s WA

The late Don Brandenburg, a resident of the Great Southern, bequeathed part of his estate for the wellbeing of older people in the region. Apart from donations to other local organisations, the trustees of the estate have bequeathed $1,000,000 to Alzheimer’s WA to build a dementia specific short stay respite home. This will be built alongside the Hawthorn House dementia hub in Henry Street, Albany, and will enable us to respond to the unmet demand for dementia respite in the region.
